The Start of Something Great!

Hi everyone!....Cooper has made his grand entrance!!!! Here is the story of Cooper.......We went to the hospital Sunday night at 9 to check in. After some meds during the night Sherri was at a 3 by 8 o'clock the next morning and the doc broke her water. After that things sped up and she started having some really hard contractions for the next hour which is when she got introduced to a wonderful doc that gave her the epidural! What a life saver! Things kept moving along very well and she was to a 6 by 11:30 and then to a 9.5 by 1 o'clock! Shortly after that the pushing started around 2:15, and then at 2:39 pm Cooper made his entrance into the world! It was absolutely amazing to see him come out...and with so much hair! Having remembered that I was pretty slick on top when I was born and heard stories that Sherri had no locks of hair until the ripe age of 4, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that our son was a bushy-haired baby! I can't pinpoint the color...at first under the heating light we saw a definite red tint, and the doctor and nurses said red, but he definitely could be considered a dirty blond too. We'll just have to see! Anyhow, Sherri gave birth to a big boy at 8 lbs 13 oz and 21 inches! He looks totally perfect and is perfectly healthy, which is such a blessing! We had several visitors to the hospital, and it was fun seeing everyone. Thanks to everyone that came and for everybody's thoughts and prayers! We got to come home on Wednesday afternoon and it feels great to be here! There is just something about being able to shower that just brings a smile to your face, you know! It is also great having grandparents around that love to help out! All of them have been such a big help and have made things a lot easier. Well, there are certainly more pics to come. Hope that every has a wonderful Turkey Day, I know that we have a LOT to be thankful for!

Going to the Hospital!!!

Sorry, no pics with the post today! Today has pretty much come and gone and still no Cooper!...He obviously LOVES his mommy so much that he is having a hard time letting go! So we are off to the hospital (Mansfield Methodist) to see if the good doctors can do a little coaxing. Sherri is still doing excellent... she doesn't even mind the constant backache, sore hips, terrible sleeping, indigestion, or bouts of acid reflux! We are off to check in with the labor and delivery dept. tonight and should arrive at around 8:30-9:00 pm. Then the plan is to have Sherri take some meds that will soften things up and some Pitocin starting around 6 in the morning to get the party (also known as labor) started. With a little luck and some moderate pushing we hope to see Cooper sometime tomorrow afternoon/evening. We thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and phone calls during this time. It means alot to have the wonderful family and friends that we have. We'll keep everyone updated as much as possible with text msg. Herrmans out!

Today's the Day!....Right!?

Well, we have reached the day that we have been waiting for! But...still no Cooper! It's hard to believe that the due date has come already. Sherri has officially reached the 40 week mark! Its been awhile since the last post so here are some updated results...we went to the doc this past thursday and she said that Sherri was dilated to a 1, but not effaced at all and little man had not dropped a bit. Sherri's blood pressure was a stellar 110/70 and the baby is doing great, apparently so good that he likes it where he's at! Pending his arrival we have another doc visit scheduled for tuesday and then the doc said that she would induce Sherri at 41 weeks if nothing happens before that. Now for more updated news...since thursday Sherri has since then lost the "plug" and we think that Cooper dropped earlier today, he's either lower or his future parents have lost it because we are so anxious to see him and we are now making things up to make it seem like he is coming!!!! So, we'll see...maybe tonight!? We have both been "nesting" and now have successfully stocked up on enough food for the next 12 years, vacuumed the house almost daily, cooked 100 casseroles and froze them for future use, and watched every single movie we own trying to pass the time!!!! Did I mention the word ANXIOUS! Ha Ha! Here are a few pics of the past weeks, and as my disclaimer I would like to mention that no pregnant women were harmed during the making of these pictures, they were simply staged for your entertainment! Of course I wouldn't have my pregnant wife out sweeping and mowing...right!? Hopefully we'll have some exciting news in the days or hours ahead!

Here we are today after church, at 40 weeks. Sherri was welcomed into the church today as a Catecumen, we have been attending RCIA classes so she will be baptized this next Easter! Nice 40 week belly!

She looks so hard at work doesn't she!

I hope that Cooper is taking notes on the fine details of lawn care!

Oh... barefoot and pregnant!

After all that hard work, I'd need a nap too! Doc looks tuckered out as well!
