Almost 8 Weeks and the Land of Formula!

Wow, it is amazing how fast time flies! Cooper is coming up on being 8 weeks old! He is growing like a weed and getting stronger everyday. He is getting his parents trained better everyday as well! One of his favorite positions is on our shoulders with his head held up high (on his own of course) so that he can take everything in. We are amazed at how strong his neck and back already are!

We have also made a recent change as well. As of last weekend we made the switch to formula and bottle-feeding. Sherri was once again the victim of a case of mastitis (2nd time in 5 wks!....ouch) and so that was the end of the nursing as Cooper knew it! We were kinda nervous but he did great with the formula and has not looked back since. He actually seems a little bit more content after feedings like he is more full, and is lasting longer between feedings. We are usually only up 1 to 2 times a night now and he sleeps for around 4 hours at a time. Not too shabby! Sherri is doing much better now as well, although the first few days after she quit nursing left her pretty ...uh...sore we'll say! We also took Cooper out to eat at Texas Roadhouse the other night, which was his first official busy restaurant to go to. He did great and slept for awhile and then got a bottle towards the end of our dinner and did great. It really made Sherri and I feel like we will have a little more freedom to get out and about from now on. The last news is that Cooper's Baptism is next Saturday, so we are looking forward to that. We'll have more pics by then too. Oh, and we go to the pediatrician on Thursday for the 2 month visit. Should be fun to see how much bigger he is, but not looking too forward to the shots...ouch!

What a long little guy!

Merry Christmas and Happy 2009!

Hi everyone! Well, 2009 is upon us now, it is hard to believe. It has been a busy holiday season so there are lots of pics to see. Since our last post we made the 8 1/2 hour drive to Dodge City, KS for Cooper's First Christmas. It went even better than expected and he did great. We made it up and back with only a few stops in between and little man pretty much slept the whole way and only woke up for a few hunger stops. We were very impressed with how good our 4 week old did on his first road trip! Christmas was great, we got to see a lot of family and friends in the few days we were back. Cooper got tons of great stuff (thanks everyone!) and mom and dad did pretty good too! After we got back we had a Newborn New Year's Eve party with the Parker family (Their Braeden is 3.5 weeks older than Cooper) and that was very fun and entertaining as I'm sure most would imagine! Then after the new year we had another get-together with some of our old Dental School friends (We missed you Steph!) Hope everyone has a great new year and here's all the pics!

Mmmmm, tasty!

Merry Christmas Cooper!
